The Kingswells Community Council (KCC) held its monthly meeting on Sunday, 19 October 2025, to consider a range of administrative, community, and planning matters of importance to residents across Kingswells.
The meeting opened with general business, including apologies for absence. No local councillors were in attendance at this session. The minutes from the previous meeting were adopted, and members received an update on the current status of the KCC bank account.
Community updates formed a key part of the discussion. The KCC reviewed information on the Traffic Regulation Order concerning parking restrictions on Kingswood Drive and raised ongoing concerns regarding illegal dumping on land owned by Webster Farm. To encourage greater community input, the KCC agreed to introduce a suggestion box next year, allowing residents to share feedback and ideas anonymously. There were also talks about improving the community noticeboard next year.
No report was received from Police Scotland for this meeting.
In terms of planning, the KCC discussed future proposals by Drum Property for the land north of Prime Four, where the developer is seeking to build residential homes primarily for elderly and disabled residents, along with an extended meadow beyond the stone wall. Updates on the Co-op planning application were shared, and the KCC continues to monitor local development proposals closely.
The KCC also received an update on the progress of LEAF funding, noting that a clearer breakdown of costs is required. The Council further agreed to apply for Christmas ACC funding to support a festive community evening in Kingswells—an event aimed at bringing residents together to celebrate the season.
The meeting concluded with confirmation that the date of the next KCC meeting will be announced in due course.
The Kingswells Community Council would like to extend its thanks to all residents who continue to engage with and support local initiatives. Community participation remains vital in ensuring that Kingswells continues to thrive as a vibrant and welcoming place to live.
