Join the pick.

It's happening again. Another community litter pick has been organised, on Saturday 10th October 2015 in the village of Kingswells.  Residents of Kingswells are asked to join the pick to really clean up Kingswells.

It is hoped there will be a similar success to the first litter pick, which happened earlier this year on a very warm and sunny Saturday in April. Residents young and old, picked and removed a large quantity of litter; enough to fill 65 back sacks full of rubbish.

However, even with all that hard work, they still didn’t manage to clean-up all of the village, so even then it was suggested a second pick should be arranged.

The 2nd Kingswells Litter Pick is planned for Saturday 10th October, from 11am to 3pm - meeting at the bottom of Wellside Ave (by the turning circle), with the aim to focus on other litter hot-spots in the village.

If any residents have particular spots they would like the litter pick to focus on, can they drop an email to info@kingswells.com or post a message on the kingswells.com Facebook page”.

Aberdeen City Council will provide pickers, gloves, hi-vis vests and black bin bags. Residents are asked to just turn-up on the day in warm suitable clothing and help with the picking.

Claire Burt said, “This is a great time to do the litter pick, as various maintenance programmes from tree pruning have been on-going around the village, and areas have been cleared of over-grown shrubs along with a general tidy up of some paths”.

All residents, developers, landscape contractors, local businesses and everyone living and working are invited to the litter pick on Saturday 10th October 2015, from 11am to 3pm.

Please meet at the bottom of Wellside Ave (by the turning circle), Kingswells at 11am.
