The Fourmile in Kingswells, which has recently changed ownership, is currently undergoing refurbishment to transform its existing lounge area into a traditional pub for the local community.

The renovations, which are expected to be completed by the start of June, will focus on a traditional vibe with touches of community history incorporated into the new interiors. The new-look bar, designed by award-winning architects, Nicoll Russell Studios, will also be given a face lift with new seating and tables, updated mirror bar gantry, sleek wooden flooring, and additional HD television screens with Sky TV and BT Sport.

The bar, which will be open seven days a week, will continue to serve its popular Scottish food and an up-to-date drinks range with a wide selection of Scottish gins, vodkas, whiskys and craft beers.

Operations Director of The Fourmile, Alan Aitken, said: “The Fourmile has held a long standing connection within the Kingswells community but we felt the area was lacking with no real local pub for the surrounding residents. Although a relatively minor refurbishment, we feel these interior changes will make a huge difference to the atmosphere and provide the community with an excellent place to enjoy a relaxing drink or watch some sport with friends.”

“Since taking ownership, we have received great support from the locals and due its prime location and growing community, it only felt right that we brought back the local bar and revived it back to its heyday. We believe the new look will appeal to a variety of customers, with comfortable surroundings, HD sporting action and an extensive drinks range on offer to suit all tastes. We are really look forward to welcoming the locals back and attracting lots of new Fourmile fans.”

The Fourmile’s main family friendly restaurant will continue to serve its extensive menu every day for lunch and dinner, whilst the current lounge bar will be closed to the public until the start of June.

The Fourmile, is now part of a growing hospitality group which includes, The Ferryhill House Hotel, No.10 Bar & Restaurant, McGinty’s Meal An’ Ale and The Stag.
