The police have been speaking to kids re the fire at the Vet

With the use of mobile phones, it is easy to attract unwelcome guests at parties. The police can offer some assistance.

Fairley Road still has problems with rogue parking. Dates and car registration numbers were passed to Jodie for further investigation.

Wardens are to check periodically.

Ruth Morris Aberdeen City Council

Ruth plans at least two visits to KCC each year.

In the spring, the Action Plan will be discussed.

In the autumn, the progress will be discussed.

The Action Plan is now written to identify actions that can be achieved rather than ‘like to have’ items. Any item that has no budget will be kept on file, but will be included in the Action Plan. The plan is intentionally written in its current style to offer the greatest flexibility in achieving the intended goals.

The Youth Group has a possibility of the use of a portacabin. This should be chased up with David Wright.

There is a consultation due some time in June on Community Learning Hubs.

Ruth was advised that this was very short notice. More time would be required.

A future workshop will be organised in August to allow communities to share their experiences in the preparation of Community Newsletters. KCC welcomed the chance to participate.

The Youth Group is now closed. The youth worker is still assigned to Kingswells of a period each week. The assessment of the possible use of the village hall is currently being left to members of the hall committee and Youth Action Group. Still waiting for health and safety risk assessment to be performed by ACC. Ruth to provide an update.

Ruth

Beavers have 10 boys and a leader, but no where to meet.

Travellers at Park & Ride

Paperwork is in place to progress evictions.

Some of the travellers were evicted a while ago, and they have now returned. Alex advised that if the same people returned then any existing paperwork was still effective.

It was reported that some travellers use the wooded area adjacent to the P&R site as a toilet. The presence of used toilet paper is evidence of this. The police advised that this in itself was not an offence unless the act was performed in public, and someone was offended.

Barrier at the Park & Ride

Alex and Stan have a drawing of the proposal to install height restriction barriers at the P&R. They will check the proposal on site to confirm it is acceptable.

The community centre wishes to contribute £350 towards the newsletter. Funds will be passed onto the Community Project.

Hanging baskets have been sponsored by the Community Centre (x2), Bill’s Wok Inn and Aberdein Considine. KCC will pay for the remaining 4 pairs of baskets.
