PTA Ceilidh with Graham Geddes and his Band - huge success!!

The ceilidh night was an excellent evening for the village and a huge success for the school...

Fortunately, the pouring rain didn’t deter partygoers at the start of February when the Kingswells PTA put on a Ceilidh evening at the Community Centre. The tartan bunting, balloons and hanging icicle lighting created the perfect ambience for the event and Graham Geddes and his band kept everyone on track all night with a full dance floor the whole evening.

The night was a huge success, ticket sales exceeded 150, and it was great to see the wider population of Kingswells supporting the school in their fundraising efforts. The auction raised in excess of £2000, people bidding for babysitting, DIY, an Audi TT, a Man U signed football shirt, corporate seats at Old Trafford or the chance to fulfil a dream and drive an Aston Martin Vanquish for a weekend – nobody left the centre disappointed.

After hours of dancing and plentiful amounts of food and drink, there was laughter to be heard on the streets of the village as people made their way home – most with sore feet and bruised arms but great memories of night out in Kingswells when we all felt the community spirit at its best.

The event raised an incredible £5500 for the School and the PTA would like to thank everyone who contributed to the night – Graham Geddes and his band, the 4Mile House, Ballooning Lovely, Philip King Kiltmakers, John Clark Audi and everyone who donated raffle and auction prizes. A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event by being there, we are already planning the next one….
