Easynet which are owned by sky, have now unbundeled the exchange in westhill with ADSL2 equipment. Unbundeling allows competitors to offer better products at lower prices, because instead of reselling a BT product like most ISP's, they install their own equipment at the exchange and bypass BT altogether. The only thing BT do is provide the copper wire which you still get ripped of £11 / Month for. Naturally the same rules apply regarding distance from the exchange so its up to 22 mb and wont be availiable to anyone on the new street cabinets. You can get this service by subscribing to easynet's retail division "ukonline" which offer up to 22mbit, or as an add on package to your sky tv for £10/month which will give you up to 16mb. Although 22mb is entirelely unrealistic in kingswells you are likeley to see some speed improvements over BT's standard ADSL And remember, if you do switch this will be less money for BT coffers who have shown nothing but contempt for customers in kingswells.
