| Anyone else feeling totally exasparated ??
BT's line checkers clearly havent been updated yet, BT say I can order broadband through them successfully yet their website says no. Cant order with any other ISP who say "cant place the order, TPON etc.. contact BT".
Phone BT who say "not down to us, contact ISP who need to place the order".
AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!! |

Hi Mokiemov,
Hang in there! As you can read in the other threads, there are a growing number of successes in the broadband order process. We all know it's a frustrating process, but ultimately well worth the pain and heartache when you are successful in receiving a high speed broadband service.
I have posted some tips for a successful order in another thread. It may be of some help.

| I was supposed to be activated 2.2,as there was no activity round the concraig cabinets I checked the BT order tracker and it was still on stage 3 ie 1.2.
Contacted BT and was advised that order was "with engineers".
Started set up at 9pm,was not surprised when there was no internet light and therefore no connection.Ill leave it until Monday,Im afraid I cannot cope with the Indian branch. |

| BT Activation date was 2nd Feb, appear to have ADSL set up - Green light on router, but no access to ISP. Phoned BT 5 times now using same number, getting through to different people and different 'suggestions' - worst is getting through to india who told me I cant get broadband in my area - AAAAAGGGGGHHHHH. Last call was on sat morn to a lady who advises BT are behind in getting the accounts all set up, but should be ok by sat pm. Nothing working monday morn. Will wait till tomorrow when the helpful lady is back on shift and if not repaired will cancel. I went to BT because I thought their systems would be best placed given our local history and issues. Am regretting this big time - would advise folks NOT TO USE BT. Their help/support systems are completely inadequate. |

| My BTBroadband order was supposed to be activated on Friday 2 February,I tried to set up at 9pm,no luck. Spoke to Sales at 1.15pm today and was put through to "Order Management" where a very helpful lady said she would contact BT Wholesale to find out what the problem was,she would phone back within the half hour. She in fact phoned back within 10 minutes and told me my line would activated anytime between
midnight on 6 February and 8pm on 7 February. She suggested I try to set up anytime
in that window. So fingers crossed again!
Just a word of advise for anyone trying to deal with BTBroadband, deal with them Monday to Friday 0800 to 1800 otherwise you will become frustrated with the apparent
lack of efficiency. |

| Well - nothing happened on the 6th. BT phoned and promised faithfully that I would be activated today by 8pm. Even phoned at 7.30pm to see if anything had changed and was told it was set to go through. Ha ha. Nada.
Johnny / Derbeth grange - how are your orders coming along? |

| Still waiting. On the advice of BTs "Orders Management" I tried every 2 hours yesterday 8.2,my final attempt of the day was at 9pm.
I have tried twice today, still nothing.I am going to try again tonight after 8pm.
That will be almost the week since original A/D,so that will be when it gets formal so to speak. |

| Similary story to others - still no broadband - Woman from Dundee Centre trying to be helpful but last night suggested that I would have to wait another week as hers systems couldnt let her do any more. I asked to speak to her boss and got a lady who is dealing with 5 of us from Kingswells. Without wanting to drop anyone in it, it appears that despite the note from Openreach, the BT departments have absolutely no understanding of how to progress this manually. I was on hold for about 1 1/2 hours last night, but at least ended positively with Dundee.
Bottom line is BT are struggling to apply a manual process and are having internal conversations.
What are everybody's symptoms ? I am getting the green light ie appear to have ADSL, but am not able to log onto the ISP ? BT cant trace the fault until their system says I am connected. The process for updating this 'connection system' is duff, hence catch 22 - cant go back, cant go forward. |

| Got through to BTBroadband sales at 0940 today, asked to speak to "Orders management"
was put through to Broadband services, lady said she would talk to BTWholesale I waited 15 minutes, came back on to tell that the "provisions desk" had told her"all the work has been done and order should be closed off tonight.I tried to find out what the problems were, but she apologised and said she really had no idea and was just passing the info from Wholesale.
So I will try again tonight after 8pm and see what happens, wish me luck. |

| Nope - still not on yet. You must be lucky derbethgrange. I have just got the hub permanently on via mains and through the phone. Is that the right way or do I have to do something else. The way you are all saying you tried at various times makes me think I have got it wrong somehow and not linking up properly. The way I read it was it we can just keep it switched on until the internet light comes on? Anyone got any advice on that. |

| Maddie, I didnt get a hub, but the free basic router (voyager 220V)- I already owned a wireless router (which I've not tried today but expecting problems when I come to use it) My config is the router and phone both into a filter, which goes straight into phone socket. I dont think the ADSL line needs to go into the filter but could be wrong. I dont have an internet connection light on the router - just an adsl light. Only way i can check internet connection is by the installed router software, or simply opening my browser. |

| A different department from BT has been on the phone. He seemed very keen to get issues resolved and has been helpful. He said he was looking for details of everyone who is having problems so he can work through them. Ive pointed him in the direction of this forum, and the lady who was looking after us in Dundee. Here's hoping |

| well we seem to be moving forward slowly. I have now had my ISDN removed and I have a brodband connection on my hub. Still no Internet connection but I have been told it will be shortly. The physical connection looks good and it looks like it has synched at 8Mb down (Line attenuation of 5dB down). Whether I'll get that or not when it is finally connected we will see). SnR of 18dB so all looks good.
Nearly there but not quite........
ADSL modem show DSL connection but no ATM or PPP yet. Fingers crossed for this weekend.
