If the previous BT routers are anything to go by you wont be able to connect it to any ADSL connection with any ISP other that BT. Do a quick search on the Internet and see if there are any workarounds...

While I had to nag my ISP (Plusnet) for an answer, I just got this back from them. "We have been advised of a commit date of the 26th of January, so the ADSL itself should be up and running for around dinnertime of the 27th of January." Brian

I finally spoke to someone who was useful at sky broadband last night who agreed to take a manual order for adsl. Said someone would get back to me within 48hrs to let me know the result. Fingers/toes crossed. I know I could order it today with BT but refuse to as a matter of principle !

Line should have been activated yesterday. Phoned BT today. There has been a delay. Someone will get back to me. She said the good news is that it has not been cancelled. Well at least that is something.

My broadband should have beem activated today. I have just spent 65 minutes, (65 *&^%&*^*Y&^^ minutes!!!!!!) speaking to BT only to be told............you can't get Broadband , you have fibre optic cables. After explaining about the letter form Open Reach, manual ordering, etc etc I was told that there is a solution to this in the planning stage, phone back in a few weeks. Unbeleivable.(At the moment I make Victor Meldrew look like a proper ray of sunshine.)

I am with you regarding BT Mikiemov. While I can understand peoples desire to get broadband ASAP I just cant beleive so many are signing up with BT - who did absolutely nothing to help until forced/shamed into it by the persistence of our MSP amongst others. Even since the 18th the order process has been very anything but straightforward. At least the saga is drawing to a close and hopefully you will be sharing your stories of how good/fast your connection with those of us who are not yet connected....

My BT broadband was not activated yesterday as planned. I called to day and was given 29th Jan as the new activation date. Until you see a text confirming activation completion do not bother trying unless you have the broadband service light on. Ukpe

Ukpe. Did you order online as normal or ask for it to be done manually over the phone.

I placed an order with BTBroadband today and was given activation date of Friday 2 February.During the time I was on the phone I did not mention anything about manual ordering but I was asked if I had a router and I do from a previous attempt to order in November, so all I am getting in the post is a letter confirming activation dated and the welcome book and CD. Having read posts of others experience with BT I will just wait and see,but if there is a problem I will email Brian Adam with my phone number as I was invited to do.

According the complaints department (who have been doing some excellent work in chasing my order)the BT system now works on the automated system so shouldn't require the manual CRF. It raises a red flag when ordered saying its new technology. They were very apologetic when my order didn't go through on the 25th and said there was a slight hiccup but should be sorted this weekend. They also said I would get some kind of credit as we had to stay in all day waiting for the engineer. So as per the other BT orders I am due Monday. Like them my order wasn't cancelled so at least its another step forward ......
