| One resident received a reply from Brian Adam MSP that contained an email from Ofcom
Ofcom are saying the have had only 2 complaints regarding broadband for Kingswells and MR Adam has reminded us that this is an opportune moment to raise concerns to OFCOM.

| Ok - I've sent in my email so that's another one registered. How on earth are we supposed to register and complain if we don't know what is going on and who we should have sent something to. I think they must keep things quiet so they can do this, ie say there are no complaints in. Thanks for letting us all know.

| I have written to Mr Alan Stewart at Ofcom.I became frustrated with BT when I wrote
to the Customer Service Director to find out when we were getting Broadband and all I got was "your line is not on the current trial" well of course I knew that much.
I then emailed Brian Adam MSP who has kept me informed of the action he is taking and the action I can take.
So come on Kingswells, bombard Mr Stewart with emails and lets get speed surfing. |

| Response from Alan Stewart to my e-mail complaint
"Thank you for your e-mail. I understand your frustration given the lack of broadband access.
We are currently looking into the matter you and others from the area have raised and will reply in more detail once we have established the facts of this case. However I would just like to take the opportunity at this stage to stress that Ofcom as the regulator has not blocked progress. My understanding is that BT is keen to meet Ofcom to discuss the regulatory implications of the trial. This meeting has not yet taken place but will do so in the near future. My inquiries so far indicate that Ofcom has not had any involvement in what is a trial undertaken by a communications provider.
We will be in touch with more information on our view of the trial once we have considered all the details from BT.
Yours sincerely,
Alan Stewart

So back in the dark again - is it BT we are waiting on or OPCOM ?
I have no idea why OPCOM are involved though am hearing suggested horrer stories re limits on costs involved with providing a solution. maybe a red herring

| I just got the same response from Alan Stewart as DerbethGrange. BT say ofcom are the holdup and ofcom say it is a regulatory meeting that they have to hold with BT on the trial so it figures that it is going round in circles again. It would be easier for BT to release a statement on what they intend to do next and at least we would know possible time scales

| If anyone has registered with Sky Broadband do not be fooled by the email you will
receive. The delay is caused by the time it will take them to instal LLU equipment in Kingswells exchange, nothing to do with our wait for broadband. The Sky Broadband
Connect service they offer instead is not available to those of us on fibre optic.
I understand from OFCOM and Brian Adam MSP that the meeting between BT and Ofcom is imminent. |

I have had broadband but it kept going off when the street lights came on, I was with orange I have phoned them several times, I sopke to someone who was helpful and told me that because the frequency of the street lights was higher than the telephone frequency, this was canceling my broadband, orange told me that this is a easy job for BT to do and this problem was with other customers around the UK.
Not sure if this is right or not as am not very technical with these things, What I don't understand is why my neighbour has wireless yes wireless!!! and the rest of us can't surely if one person can receive this service we should all be able to receive wireless or at least broadband.
Thanks for the ofcom info, I think in 2006 nearly 2007 everybody should receive broadband, unless you live in the middle of knowhere but I beleive that the middle of knowhere can receive broadband and wireless!!
