it looks like there may be troubles for tesco getting p/permission at westhill, according to the link posted previously the health and safety aspect has not approved the plans due to a gas pipepline in the vicinity, it may be a case of strengthening the pipeline...we'll have to wait and see untill then looks like we'll still have to make the mad dash across the hadigan roundabout !!

I read that Tesco has told Westhill Residents Association that the opening date had been moved to March 6th 2006.

No update on the Aberdeeenshire Planning website since July. I think they will have had to resubmit plans as the HSE objected to it being too close to the BP pipeline (even though BP themselves OK'd it).

According to the local news planning issues have been sorted out and Tesco's agent expects to begin construction in January 2006, opening in June. Sounds like good news, though this is not yet confirmed on the planning section of the Aberdeenshire Council website.

i contact tesco customer services and queried this plans being withdrawn here is the reply quote: Thank you for your patience. As advised by the relevant department regarding your query, I can confirm that the latest information we have is that this store is due to open on 17th April 2006.

I noticed that there is a lot of earth works going on at the westhill roundabout, is this the tesco store taking shape?????

The signs on the site at the Arnhall roundabout say it's a Tesco that's going up, so whoever said April for opening is probably close to the mark. Funny that there's been nothing in the papers about.
