Hi all, I was out walking the other day and right there in front of me on the path was a GREAT HEAP of HORSE CRAP. Dog owner's have to clear up after their dogs foul the pavement so can anyone tell me what happens about Horse dung/droppings/crap - you get the picture ??? Do not their riders have a responsibility to clean it up ??:msn_hmm:

...on the subject of animal droppings.... I see the dog bin near the shops was 'raided' over the weekend, it was all over the road and the location of the traffic island made it difficult not to drive over. Perhaps a suitable punishment (if the culprit is ever caught) would be to pick up the poop bags with his / her teeth ?

Found this on the internet, don't know if it helps or not. Might be worth asking Community Council or local police to look into this issue??? Litter has a very wide interpretation, including wrappers, cans, bottles, packaging and food. Natural matter isn’t classed as litter, but as refuse – however, animal droppings can only come under the definition of refuse if further legalisation is passed by the Secretary of State for the Environment. If this were to happen then it would be an offence to allow an animal to foul a public highway. However, so far the only type of droppings that are defined as refuse are dog faeces.

Meant to say, we too saw the mess left this weekend. It beggars belief really.

Yes - not only were the 8-14 year olds content with tipping the dog bin all over the road next to the school playing field, but they also put the traffic island cone ontop of the lolipop light on the crossing, and they were standing throwing stuff at cars - one of them being mine..... they thought this was funny all the cars driving and having to avoid the excriment all over the road... Wont be so funny when they grow up and have to avoid the same stuff! Hope some of them become blind!

Hi Marcyboy, reference your posting on the 9th, did you really witness all this happening i.e. the traffic island cone, the throwing of stuff and if so did you call the police or do anything about it. I'm sorry if the so called '8-14 year olds' were throwing stuff at my car I would be giving chase and......I'm not allowed to make threats but lets just say that they wouldn't be throwing stuff at my car again. Can't get my head round, quote 'Hope some of them become blind!' are you going to scratch their eyes out? Keep us posted of any other sightings Nancyboy maybe next time you might act on them..
