The impression I get is one of the Lib Dems being an environmentally aware party and one to promote issues such as cycle paths, Park and Ride, public transport etc. So why is it that I keep seeing the Lord Provost's car in the village? Dispite grumbles, we do have a reasonable bus service and a decent Park and Ride service. Would it be too much to expect the Lord Provost to use these facilities and lead by example? I accept there will be times when the car is needed but either I am very lucky (?) in seeing the car so often or it is being used a lot to run Peter Stephen home. No doubt some one will come out and tell me the car runs on LPG / hydrogen / solar / bio fuel... KC. PS Not a personal critisim of Peter Stephen as I'm sure previous LP's were just as bad or worse.

Not just you, I had noticed this myself and couldn't figure why until I heard that Pter was the new Lord Provost. Guess he is out a lot on official engagements? I seem to rememeber a debate a couple of years ago on whether the expenditure on a flash council car was justifiable. With a big boot like that, should be plenty space to convert to LPG (and room left for a set of golf clubs)

I also have seen the car on numerous occasions. As pointed out, there is an adequate bus/park and ride service for travelling into the city centre. Is it too much to ask that our local councillor practices what his party preaches?

Regularly? Once a week? On Saturday? When it's a 10 minute service and all busses are supposed to go round kingswells? It's adequite at the wrong times. The timetable at the right times is scandalist. No other bus route in abeerdeen has to forfiet the last mile at peak times to increace the frequency on more central sections of the route. Can you imagine the outrage if they started this nonsence on the 1/2 or 23 route The sunday and public holiday service is also scandalist. Every other part of aberdeen is serviced as early as 7am. (this includes between woodend and the city centre which is part of the kingswells route) But the kingswells section of the route gets ditched untill after 10:00

Mrs KC saw the LP's car last night outside the Community Centre while some thing was going on there. Now that really does look poor given he lives in the village. Is it really that much of a status symbol? Anyone think he reads this forum? Failing that might drop him a friendly line at the Council and see what his opinion is on using the car.
