| I see from the Police report to KCC that a "local resident" has complained about the
new fish van service causing a problem by attracting parking. At first I thought that where he parked might cause a problem but then I thought the parking problem around the shopping centre was there long before the fish van arrived. The parking facilites around the school/community centre/shopping centre are simply now inadequate and in need of urgent review. Perhaps our newly re- elected councillor might like to make that one of his priorities for the next four years, because the problem isnt going to go away in fact disastrous will be a word to describe it soon. |

| I have to agree, there are not enough parking spaces for the demand. Looking at it from a different angle, at most, the Village Centre is a ten minute walk from the majority of houses in kingswells. Instead of all the housewifes driving from their houses to the community centre to do aerobics, why not walk. Good for fitness and more free spaces:msn_wink: |

| Agree, 3.2 miles by road, if you get on your bike or walk, there are shortcuts that would allow you to make the journey shorter, than taking the one you would with the car.
Too many excuses, just out of interest, do you have a bike? |

| No offence taken. Should have completed the sentence "do you have a bike that has seen the outside of a garage recently" A 2 mile round trip on a bike I think is within most peoples capabilities. Getting back to my first posting, that could be walked in around 15 minutes and cycled in 5, not so unrealistic after all. |

| I use the fish van regularly and the quality and choice is great.
I cannot believe someoned complained because it attacted cars to the area. And as for the distance to wlak debate, well that just comes down to interest in ones fitness etc
What about the Property shop ? they use a space or two and what does that shop are do for the community, not a thing. Most of the houses are rentals so if i live in the area why would i want a rental house.
The unit should have something it it that actually benefits the community |

| Fish Van I think is very good, Good on the guy whose business it is. Can I ask for patience, understanding and tolerance. Can we also urge that he gets access to the area outside the community centre rather than being tucked away as soon as possible. It is hard enough running a business these days without unpleasantness from the communities we try to serve. I would like to welcome him into the community as a valued local service.
And can we ask for some degree of courtesy on the forum, if often sounds like the script lines of Eastenders(banned in our house not the behaviour role models we want) rude, aggresive and discourteous. This behaviour discourages participation and discussion.
On traffic, if we all choose to drive we must accept the congestion issues. We all have a collective responsibility and we could park 200-300m from the shops and avoid the congestion if we have to drive. |

| The use of the hard standing at the community centre was suggested by the community council at the last meeting. Peter Stephen is working on sorting this problem.
Obviously, there may be issues using this area during the building works at the community centre.
Some car owners do not have any regard for others. Issues include inconsiderate parking, using driveways for parking and turning.
It will take time to resolve all aspects of this problem. Can I ask that consideration be given to residents affected, and that everyone is patient until suitable resolution is achieved. Kingswells needs this type of service.

| The NIMBYs strike again....
They will complain about absolutely anything - when the school was enlarged so should the car park.
Lets complain about that rather than something which is providing a service.. |
