| Until the "im alright Jack " attitude of many residents changes then I am afraid the kids behaviour can hardly be expected to improve. |

| Observing the blogs on youth.
Youths outside the community centre doors locked? A programme dominated by fund raising opportunities perhaps, they are not child friendly. Same committee for over 10 years time for wholesale change methinks
Youth Club has to meet at Fairly Road, why not community centre. Why do the younhgsters not have some form of buy in to the CC, because they are not welcome?
Youth club, Lack of volunteers, I volunteered once, I withdrew as all they wanted was someone on the door. In my day the youth club was a balance of left to own devices and some direction from adults.
Much can be done much is not being done why. There are many differing groups in the village some do not speak to others if the adults are disfunctional what chance the children.
A culture seems to abound that we expect every one else to fix the problems, not ourselves. Then attack every suggestion made by these people who try. Consequence those of us with ideas, energy, experience and enthusiam keep away and focus our energies on our own childrens interest groups. Sad.
Can I suggest foums are listed in reberse date order

The Community Centre didn't have the facilities they were looking for. The Community Centre doesn't, at present, have a slot they can use whilst their premises are being renovated, TEMPORARILY.This, however, is an ongoing issue which is being looked at constantly. Had you attended any meetings you would be aware of this fact.
Not interested in the rest of the "debate" but cannot get the point that the "Community Centre" didn't have the facilities or a slot for the "local" youths. How long is temporarily? And what steps are being taken to address the issue? How often are the meetings as I would be keen to attend. I have probably missed it on the site, but are the dates for the meetings published well in advance? Thanks |

| Youths wanted amongst other things a pool table, smoking area, outdoor sports area, access to coffee shop. The "Community Centre" could not provide these. Fairley Road was a much better option.
The majority of the timetable provides opportunities for "local" youths. Does no-one look at the timetable? The timetable is almost full. Who do they get rid of in order to let the Youth Club in when they click their fingers?
Why do people assume the committee to be so anti-youth? Too many people with too little/incorrect information looking for a scapegoat I think.
Once the youths have a proposal to give the committee I'm sure it will be given careful consideration. Why is the Youth Group so desperate for helpers and yet no-one's willing to help them?
Dates of meetings are available at the Community Centre. I'm sure that dates could be advertised here too. Just phone the Centre and ask for the dates.
I'm sure you would be made more than welcome at the meetings. I have the feeling the Centre is now going to get some verbal about not always advertising dates on here ... It'll be interesting to see how many do attend now I've told you the date of the next meeting... |

| The Community Centre Committee were indeed looking into the Youth Group having access to the Coffee Shop when we discovered that the Youth Group had actually begun meeting at Fairley Road...communication problems were blamed...
Every meeting is an open one. You would be more than welcome to come along. You'd be even more welcome if you have a solution to this problem!
Perhaps with more people like yourself who are willing to help the Youths and take responsibility for care of the building there could be a solution.
As for Committee menbers helping, well that's up to them but I already run 2 groups in Kingswells, voluntarily, and sit on 2 committees so I think I'm involved enough already.
Look forward to meeting you on the 28th Aug. |

| I believe the timetable was constructed in 2005 but it is constantly up-dated.Looks as though the date function doesn't work.
The badminton clubs are still running. One is a private club - Monday's club, and the other is open to all members of the Centre.
I think you should contact the Centre to confirm this info though! |

| My response to your initial attack on the Community Centre was indeed aggressive.
I was absolutely outraged when I read the blatant lies you wrote. Instead of coming on to this forum and criticising the Community Centre Committee, without having any real knowledge of what they do, shouldn't you have contacted the Centre and let them know your concerns? Surely this would have been a much more mature approach.
Anyone with a modicum of interest in attending meetings just has to call the Centre number on the website or go into the Centre and see the dates on the notice board.
Why make such a fuss about the dates not being posted on this website?
I apologise if anyone found my response to be rude and aggressive but it was written in defence of the people on the Community Centre Committee who work extremely hard to try and make Kingswells a better place for EVERYONE. |

| I quite agree with you. I mentioned it to the little indian guy who was working there and said he should tell them to NAF OFF but he just smiled, nodded his head and shrugged his shoulders as if to say "what can you do". But then again what can he do. The kids never bought anything they were all just standing up by the cheese flirting - DOH !!! |
