No.3 on the sides No.4 on the top. Anything else do as the person above does and go to Westhill.

You bunch of mean cowardly people - have you the courage to tell her this or do you just snipe from the safety of anonymous postings?? I've been down a few times and didn't really have too many complaints.

Since it changed to 'Shikiras' it isn't great at all. It is more expensive and my 11 year old sons hair was visibly squint on the top. The previous owners weren't fantastic but reasonably priced and could at least cut straight.

TM - Not mean at all. If you didn't have too many complaints, you must have had some. I would not go back. It's a personal decision, however I would like to have as they are cheaper than Westhill.

Fair enough, I quite agree it's a personal choice. I thought it a little unfair that people snipe behind anonymous postings and was having a go at that. People vote with their feet and any business which doesn't realise that will not last. I wasn't always impressed with the cut and quite often alternated between other places and the local, which worked out okay for me. If it had to close down everyone would be passing comment on that and most would be sorry to see it go.

I started this forum because my 83 year old mother had a six monthly trim there the other day and came away with an uneven cut.they wet her hair to make it easier to cut but then did not offer to dry it off so she came out looking like she had just come out of the shower albeit her hair had been combed. The other point was she offered a debit card for a £9 bill and this was declined stating they do not accept debit card payment under £10. she did not have the cash so suggested they take £10 and give a £1 tip to person who cut the hair which she was going to do anyway. I have contacted her bank and they can think of no reason to not accept payment of under £10 other than a way of getting cash in the till for petty cash. My mother will not visit "Shakira" again.

I'm totally in agreement with you & can only apologise that in ignorance if I was having a go at you. This is entirely unacceptable practice and at the very least I believe someone should print off this forum and drop it through her mailbox. If she does not change her tune then possibly the OFT should be informed. The vote with the feet issue will also no doubt play a significant role...

TM, Anyone can call themselves a few letters and say they are not being anonymous. I don't know TM from PD or SA, if you get my point!!

Touche - you're quite right. But there are a few people who know who TM is and believe it or not they are my real initials. But suffice for me now to hide behind the anonymity of an acronym, lest I get targeted... which is why most people post anonymously I suppose... I believe there was a thread earlier that discussed this topic - why not have everyone register before they're allowed to post, but I'm afraid only Claire can answer that.

My daughter went to the hairdresser the other week to get her hair curled and her make up done for a wedding. I eventually had to phone to find out what was keeping her only to have her on the other line in tears. They were taking so long to curl her hair they didn't have time for anything else. We ended up being late for the wedding. Only the week before she had lost half an eyebrow through waxing and I told her not to go back then. My view is they are totally disorganised and unprofessional, my daughter will now be attending the same hairdresser as myself(James Dunn in Schoolhill)

I was having a conversation about this the other day and I just don't find their 'people' skills very reassuring... fair enough they're trained to cut hair, wax eyebrows, inflict pain... but for heaven's sake, smile and be polite. I sometimes find I have to go there as they always seem to have plenty of appointments free for the beauty stuff... wonder why... and don't often see anyone going in or coming out, apart from the staff. :msn_confu

I think they might have already realised their time is up. Lack of customers = lack of turnover. http://www.aspc.co.uk/cgi-bin/public/SINGLE?ID=236446
