Subject: Congratulate our Councillor

I feel that the time has come to congratulate our Councillor, Peter Stephen, for providing substantial and attractive fencing which has put an end to the vandalism of the shrub areas in front of the shops by people taking short cuts. It took a long time but it was worth the wait. He is also to be praised for getting the present rash of bus shelters which are appearing all over the village. The Council, however, cannot be praised for some of the designs. Some have full sides, some have half sides and three on Kingswells Crescent have no sides at all. Speak about chocolate teapots! I suppose that they are better than nothing at all but all they will do is protect passengers if the rain is coming straight down and there is no wind. Even the ones with half side will offer little protection. May I appeal to Councillor Stephen to try to have these shelters improved during the summer months as at present they represent nothing more than a waste of taxpayers money. Alan Stott

come on lads, he's done not to bad so far. give him time & things will happen. you just never know what he will do next
