Does anyone agree that the Community Centre /shop car park & general area outside the community centre /Bill woks /Snappy etc especially the stairs up to the community centre are a total mess. Who is Responsible for clearing this are as its an accident waiting to happen !!!

Agree that there has been an uncommonly prodigious fall of snow this past week. I waded for the papers yesterday through knee deep snow from south Kingswells. In fairness to the local council though, they are not equipped to meet such a snow clearing demand. This amount of snow has only fallen every few decades in Aberdeen. If they remained on standby for it every year your council tax bill would substantially higher. For example, the snow clearance charges alone for a modest apartment in the Alps are now £2000/year. Then people would be moaning about paying council tax for snow clearance operations that were hardly ever used. Get a sledge and have fun while it lasts !

I fully understand that they cannot clear all the areas but surely the area araound teh shops should be priority seeing as its used by most including the kids when they are at school they come down this way . PS I have a sledge but there isnt much of a slope outside Bills Wok !!

If about 10 - 12 people got there Costco snow shovels around to the shops it could be done in a few hours. Thats what we did around the shops and pub in Bieldside. It's no good moaning about over inflated council taxes etc. at the end of the day you have to help yourself (and your neighbours) in this world.

you must take care that you do not create a dangerous situation. if some body fall's on their ass, you are & will be held leagally responsible for the results. do nothing & no implications. do something & you have taken on the responsibility. it's the world that we live in today:msn_cry:

And whilst you're doing your snow clearning maybe you could inform the owner of the blue MR2 badly parked on Kingswood Drive that next time I'll take their wing mirror off!
