I was very sad to read Claire's column in the latest Kingswells News. I would like to thank Claire and the team for all their hard work. The Kingswells News will be sorely missed. I can only hope that those responsible hang their heads in shame. So many members of our community will suffer from the loss of such a wonderful magazine.

I'm afraid to say that the problems the staff running Kingswells News have been facing is a direct result of the arrogance of the Kingswells Community Council and the "contibution" made by
the Lord Provost. Please do not kid yourselves KCC and PS that you care about the residents of Kingswells because any decisions you have made or actions you have taken are for your own personal satisfaction when you see your name in print or website text.

I have to say I was also very disheartened to read that we are going to lose the Kingswells News. I'm sure I'm not the only one who enjoys reading it and I think it's nice to have something that draws the community together. I'm very disappointed at the reasons that the volunteers have given for the news letter coming to an end - it's a pity more people don't recognise the hard work and effort it takes to put it together. I would like to say thinks to all involved for producing it, it will be missed.

I agree with the comments from fiona. Since moving to Kingswells last year i have felt a real sense of community. I hope we are not going to loose this due to a few negative people feeling they can pass comment in such a destructive manor. I wonder if they would take on such a demanding VOLUNTARY role? It has been so nice to be kept up to date with community events. I would like to thank all at kingswells news for working so hard to produce the news letter. I will really miss it!

Can you expand on or give examples of the above?

Thank you to everyone who has written letters, emailed and even stopped us in the street, to say they are sad to see the Kingswells News come to an end.

I personally am sad to end an era of Newsletters, but it's no longer any fun - for reasons I don't wish to go into.

However, I / We hope you will continue to use the website and post your news articles, photos etc for use on the website. We will maintain this.

Kind regards

Kingswells Community Council is sorry that the Kingswells News is to cease production and distribution with effect from January 2009.

KCC sees a local newsletter as a very important means of communication for the Kingswells village community, therefore KCC is aiming to publish a community newsletter in the New Year. We will fund this initial cost from the Project Fund. We don't know, as yet, just what the new format will be. However, we would be very grateful if the regular Kingswells News distributers could contact us if you are willing to continue with this essential role. We are also looking for other members of the public to help in any way to get this project off the ground.

If you are willing to distribute or help out - please contact us!

• email kcc@kwells.org
• post a letter in the village centre post box between the 2 notice boards
• contact a KCC member http://kwells.org/kwells3/node/26

To be honest guys - I'd like to come across a household in Kingswells which doesn't have email - Im sure if everyone submitted an email address to the council annually with their 'Council Tax / Voters roll form' then this information could be given out to the Kingswells CC, and the thing could be distributed Electronically.

Surely it wouldn't be that hard to do?
