The Community Council would be interested in any feedback on the new bus service 14 and 40. How well does the transfer between the 14 and 40 work? Does the bus keep better time? Are there still buses cancelled for whatever reason?

I'm not sure about the transfer connection yet. I'll be back with my 10 pennies worth on that later when I've checked it out. But for now the lack of route 41 sucks and also FIRST GROUP have changed the route of no. 14. Now I can't even get to King Street without having to change buses !!! The whole thing STINKS. I was moaning to the bus drive the other day about this and he said "there's some winners and some losers" - DOH. It looks like Kingswells ended up a loser at both ends. It's a injustice.....:msn_mad:

One of the KCC members reports the following: First week in for our new bus service. It has been dreadful. I took 11/2 hours to get home from town tonight. Waited 35 minutes for a bus on Union Street (two then came together) at 4pm. Kingswells 5:30pm. The only good thing is that most of the pre paid ticket machines seem to be broken and I have had free transport a lot this week. I took an hour (8:30am - 9:30 am ) to get to ARI yesterday morning trying to transfer from 14 to 40 at Fairley Road. Waited at both bus stops for busses that never came. I also have taken many different routes round Kingswells this week. I still don't know which one is correct. A few times the 14 has been spotted on the Bucksburn road - taking the old 41 route. This misses out some stops. I heard the man in the office giving directions to one bus driver over the radio.... People have been late for work /appointments etc and are very unhappy. One lady I spoke to has been trying to change from 14 to 40 every morning at the P&R. Instead of the timings being for a quick transfer... the drivers of the 40 are waiting at the P & R for the passengers of the 14 to get off their bus and then, before their eyes... the 40 drives off!! (She thinks deliberately) Another lady told me that she is being told to get off the 14 at Hazlehead and transfer busses to go out to Kingswells - because the busses are piling up there and only one bus is going all the way out to Kingswells. (So much for a quarter hour service.)

DREADFUL yes-sir-eeee. I quite agree. This morning the 08:05 bus came at 08:15 and the 08:20 came at 08:25. The same happened later on both the quarter past and half past buses are almost on top of each other - around 4 minutes difference. The 07:50 bus is packed and the so called 08:05 bus is not to bad but from then on it's pleasant - not to many people. Shame about the bus drivers, I don't believe any of them have a sense of humour - think they're all foreign johnies.... Please bring back the old service eh ?!:msn_hmm:
