| Having just read the article, by our esteemed Lord Provost, in this months issue of the Kingswells News. I noticed he mentioned that that proposed changes to the bus routes will be going ahead.
That's just great if you are lucky enough to have a BMW 7 series, paid for by the tax payers, to swan around in, but not so good if you want to visit the ARI.
The bus service to Kingswells is abysmal anyway, why were First group allowed to make them even worse?:msn_mad:
Would this be classed as "genuine dissatisfaction"??? |

| Personally I am glad to see the back of the 41 service,I have spent many cold and wet hours waiting for a bus which very often never came because apparently if a particular service was running very late a decision was taken by someone to miss out the village run. I admit it will be difficult for people who attend ARI often out of peak times to plan journey times but the hospital service is not being removed completely it will just take longer to get there. |

| We will have to wait and see how well the transfers work. In theoery folk will get off the 14 in Fairley Road, wait a few mins and then get on a 40 with the same ticket.
We have to remember that the frequency of the 14 has doubled, so if what Concraig says about reliability of the 41 is true, we may end up with a more reliable service - eventhough there is the inconvenience of transferring from one bus to another. |

| There is no service being lost,in fact the service to the ARI will improve because the 14 will take you directly to the front door whereas the 41 only takes you to Westburn Rd and you have to walk up the hill to the entrance. The change will be the journey time will be longer. |

| I have asked First Bus for more information about the changes, as there appears to be some confusion about the actual routes.
They are sending me details to use in the next Kingswells News albeit April.
Hopefully it will provide a clear explaination of times and stops etc. I also have an interest as I have a son using the buses to get to and from Uni and a daughter using the buses to get home from school.
If I get the information earlier I will post it on the website. |

The ARI is at the end of every second No 14, and you are correct in saying the journey will be longer. However, the 40/41 takes about 10-15 mins the get to ARI and the revised No 14 will probably take about 70 mins to get to ARI, the only real option Kingswells has is to get the 14 and then pick up the 40 at Fairly Road or at peak times - the Park & Ride is available.
Whether this is a loss of service is a personal thing, but to me it looks like a loss of service.

If your son goes to Aberdeen uni then he will have to change buses. Your daughter may be ok if she is going into town as the 14 will be every 15 mins and the route to Union Street will not change.
